June is the month in which some of Spellbound’s springtime blooming projects grow and take shape
This month starts with two previews of the new work “If there is no sun” co-created by the videoartist Luca Brinchi, the choreographer Irene Russolillo and the singer/beatmaker Karima 2G. After two art residencies, one in Florence at PARC and the other at Spazio Rossellini in Rome, “If there is no sun” first study will be on stage on June 3rd at 21 pm in Priverno at Teatro Comunale Gigi Proietti, while on June 4th it will be presented as an artistic installation version at MADXI Contemporary Museum in Latina. The events are both part of TenDance Festival.
“If there is no sun” is produced by Spellbound, Fondazione Fabbrica Europa per le arti contemporanee and Nanou Group with the support of Teatro di Roma – Teatro Nazionale, Danza Urbana, Menhir Dance Company/Talos Festival-Ruvo di Puglia, in partnership with Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Dakar, Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Tunis. The official debut will take place on July 4th and 5th at Teatro India in Rome, within Teatro di Roma programme.
“If you were a man” is one of the growing projects that will debut on June 18th at 21 pm at Largo Spartaco in Rome among the calendar of Attraversamenti Multipli Festival. Mauro Astolfi created this choreography for the four men Spellbound members Lorenzo Capozzi, Mario Laterza, Mateo Mirdita e Alessandro Piergentili. The work is produced by Attraversamenti Multipli Festival, Armonie D’Arte Festival Spellbound and it is supported by the Ministry of Culture.
On June 30th at Chiostro di Sant’Agostino in Pietrasanta (LU) will take place the last two events of the month. Spellbound will stage the solo “Unknown Woman” and a preview of the last work by Mauro Astolfi: “The real you”. The piece is performed by all company dancers and it will be again on stage as pre-premiere on July 5th at Fuori Programma Festival before the official premiere on July 28th at Civitanova Danza Festival.
