July. Spellbound’s warmest month
On July 4th and 5th, “If there is no sun” will debut within Teatro di Roma program, in Sala Oceano Indiano at Teatro India. The project has been created by the videoartist Luca Brinchi, the choreographer Irene Russolillo and the singer and beatmaker Karima 2G in collaboration with the Tunisian dancer Ilyes Triki and the two Senegalese dancers Mapate Sakho and Antoine Danfa. “If there is no sun” is produced by Associazione Spellbound, Fondazione Fabbrica Europa per le arti contemporanee and Gruppo Nanou, with the support of Teatro di Roma – Teatro Nazionale, Danza Urbana, Menhir Dance Company / Talos Festival – Ruvo di Puglia, in collaboration with Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Dakar, Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Tunisi.

During the last weeks, the Serbian-Dutch choreographer Dunja Yocic is accomplishing her last work “We, us and other games” created for our company and will debut on July 15th at Bolzano Danza Festival, co-producer and partner. The project team is composed by the dramaturg Nikola Zavisic, the composer Renger Koning, the text writer Barbi Markovic, the actor Milutin Dapcevic ,the light designer Marco Policastro and the costume designer Anna Coluccia and with the actor Milutin Dapcevic.
From July 19th Mauro Astolfi‘s creations will start the summer tour again with “Ascent”, the duet that will be performed at Chiostro di Sant’Agostino within Festival Nutida in Scandicci. After that, the tour will continue in Sicily, where on July 20th the whole company will perform a mixed program in Castellammare del Golfo: “Kavoc”, the duet “A better place”, and “Omaggio a Rossini”. The day after, on July 21st, the beautiful Castellammare del Golfo will host “Vivaldiana”, that will go on stage also in Ragusa on July 22nd.
On July 24th the male team of Spellbound brings back after the premiere last june 18th the recent Astolfi’s piece “If you were a man” at Velino Festival in Antrodoco.
Again a new project by Mauro Astolfi will then debut at Festival Civitanova Danza on July 28th: “The real you”, a new performance created by Astolfi for the whole company composed by 9 dancers. “The real you” lands on the prestigious stage of Civitanova in the Marches after two outdoor pre-premiere within the contest of other partner Festivals such as Dap Festival in Pietrasanta (June, 30th) and Fuori Programma Festival (Teatro India, July, 5th).
The month of July ends with a performance in Umbria: “A better place” by Astolfi will be performed at Umbria Danza Festival in Perugia on July, 30th. This event will close an intense summer period that gifted us with three debuts and made us get closer again to our public.
