On Saturday 12th November at 21:00, the company will be the guest of the prestigious Teatro Comunale Niccolò Piccinni in Bari with ‘Spellbound 25’, the production project celebrating the 25th anniversary of Spellbound Contemporary Ballet.
Three different authors Mauro Astolfi, Marco Goecke and Marcos Morau, but united by a dense and precise dance, recognisable and often extraordinary, sign the four creations that make up this programme: two choral projects, the oneiric “Marte” by Morau and the imaginative “The real you” by Astolfi and two solo projects, the acclaimed “Affi” by Goecke entrusted to the technique of Mario Laterza and the new “Unknown Woman” by Astolfi dedicated to an extraordinary performer, Maria Cossu, who in the year of her 25th anniversary celebrates twenty seasons with Spellbound.
A Spellbound production realised with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Lazio Region/Department of Culture, Youth Policies and Creative Lazio in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Rome and co-produced with the Milano Oltre and the German Cult!ur Partner.
“Serata Spellbound” is the title of the evening that the very young Calabrian festival, Ramificazioni, dedicates to the company on 25th November at the Municipal Auditorium of Polistena.
The mixed programme will present performers on stage with four different works: the two solos “Affi” and “Unknown Woman” and the two duets by Astolfi: “Ascent” performed by Giuliana Mele and Mario Laterza and the recent “Trust” performed by Giuliana Mele and Maria Cossu.
