SUPERNOVA. A dance programme for the new generations at Teatro Palladium
Supernova is a dance programme for the new generations among the larger ORBITA|Spellbound National Production Center for Dance project, a mapping of the leading realities of the national and international contemporary dance scene. A supernova is a star that explodes, releasing such energy that it shines brighter than an entire galaxy; in our vision, it is the possibility of germinating new creative outlooks on contemporary performance practices from a young age, in synergy with teachers and in support of teaching. Therefore the proposal includes four performances for schools, an evening event for families, a study conference and a refresher course for teachers. The programme, curated by Federica Migliotti, is scheduled at the Palladium Theatre with the aim of bringing the new generations closer to the exploration of the body as a channel for artistic practices, promoting a direct relationship between the audience and the dancers of some of the leading shows in the sector.

THE WOLF (CAPPUCCETTO ROSSO)
Compagnia La Luna nel Letto
9.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m.
RECOMMENDED AGE: 6 to 12 years old;
duration: 50 minutes
A wolf prepares to hunt. Any animal in the woods will be fine. But his favourite prey is Little Red Riding Hood. As in a recurring dream or vision, he takes care of every detail of his capture: a path of beautiful flowers is the perfect trick. This, however, will cost him his life…. The relationships between the characters and the dynamics of the story are revealed on stage through the body and unspoken language, inspired by the imagery of early 20th-century cartoons; the lights, costumes and sets are composed in a dance of symbols and pictorial quotations (Goya, Turner, Bosch, Leonardo da Vinci…)
Winner of the Eolo Awards 2019. FESTEBA’ Award 2018. Young&Kids Fit Festival Award, Lugano 2017.

ESERCIZI DI FANTASTICA
recommended age: 4 – 10 years
duration 50 minutes
A grey house. Three grey characters. Bored, dull and obnubilated by the technological medium, they move as prisoners of a pre-established mechanism, their attention always turned to the screens. But here comes an unexpected element! A butterfly will shift their gaze elsewhere and the house will become the theatre of new adventures and transformations. A crescendo of emotions and vicissitudes in which the three characters will finally rediscover the power of imagination, in a continuous game of freeing bodies and minds. Esercizi di fantastica tells, with the language of dance and movement, the power of imagination that transforms things and people into something always unexpected and extraordinary. The authors were inspired by the idea of ‘Fantastica’ by the writer Gianni Rodari.
