For Maria,
“Unknown Woman” is a serious and imaginary story at the same time. It is a collection of memories and thoughts of what has happened with an important artist in 20 years of collaboration and sharing. She and I, accustomed in these 20 years to telling each other some secret things through movements, healthy carriers of truth, a disordered column where I had to read and reread notes to understand the woman and the artist.
Perhaps we only understood each other in a rehearsal room and on the stage of a theatre, but how do you understand an artist? chasing her was only possible with your eyes and heart, any other way confuses you even more and every time you almost have to start again from the beginning, as if you were introducing yourself again and asking your name for the first time.
I don’t know where my imagination ends and how much I have learned from her in these 20 years.
As strangers we are still in the room, we observe each other, we give each other gifts and steal things from each other, but we know each other well and that is why we are still walking together.
