In June 1st, Spellbound Contemporary Ballet is presenting in Livorno at Goldoni Theater “Pa|Ethos” by tibetan choreographer Sang Jijia , an international coproduction coming from a cultural exchange from Italy and Cina which was leaded by Fabbrica Europa Festival, the same Institution now presenting in june the final and complete version of the show.
The project, which debuted in Pontedera at Fabbrica Europa Festival in May 2015, takes its name from a combination of two fundamental themes in Aristotle’s Rhetoric: Pathos and Ethos. These are used by Chinese choreographer Sang Jijia to denote two different aspects of modern society: Ethos embodies moral capacity and the rules of life in society, while Pathos evokes the world of emotions and passions.
Sang Jijia is originally from Tibet, and is now known all over the world. Influenced by the methods of William Forsythe, with whom he worked for a number of years, he has developed a unique style of choreography which draws on the culture of his birthplace: a perfect synthesis of East and West.
